CF&M would like to thank everyone who attended our workshop entitled “Internal Control Self-Assessment” presented during the 2007 NATRI Conference in Miami, FL on November 7, 2007. On October 2007 the Panel on the Nonprofit Sector released Principles for Good Governance and Ethical Practice: A Guide for Charities and Foundations. This is sure to become the benchmark for good governance and best business practices for not-for-profit organizations. Download a copy of The Guide or the (complete) Reference Edition. The IRS has recently issued a new Tax Guide for Churches and Religious Organizations which covers the benefits to, and responsibilities under federal tax law for such organizations. See our link to this guide under our Resources > Guides section.

On October 19, 2006 Bob Craig presented a Continuing Professional Education seminar for the Suffolk County Chapter of the NYSSCPA’s on the impact of SAS #99 on a Not-for-Profit Audit Engagement. The session was well received and the presentation has been added to our website under the title "Fraud and Internal Control in the Not-for-Profit Environment" on the Publications page.


Robert Craig has been informed by Sr. Laura Reicks, RSM that his presentation at the 2006 NATRI Conference on Establishing Sound Operating Principles received the following scores on a scale of 1 to 5:

  • Helpful – 4.5
  • Competent – 4.82
  • Engaging – 4.44

Each one of Bob’s scores exceeded the overall mean score for the conference. Congratulations Bob!


The presentation on Nonprofit Governance given by Robert R. Craig, CPA and Vincent J. Fuller, CPA during the NATRI Conference held on October 11-14, 2006 was attended by 139 Conference Attendees – a copy of that presentation is available under Publications.
